Reading your boarding pass
What do all of those codes on my boarding pass mean?
A boarding pass tells you where to go and when: flight number, date, gate, boarding time, seat and boarding group. The barcode contains the same information in a standard format so scanners can read it.
Try the demo: tap the highlighted parts of the pass to see what each means. Gates and boarding times can change, so always check the airport screens.
A little deeper
The barcode follows the IATA Bar Coded Boarding Pass standard. It includes your name, the six-character booking reference, origin, destination, airline, flight number, the day of year (a "Julian date") and your seat.
The sequence number is the order you checked in. Airlines use it for standby lists and for deciding who is moved if a flight is oversold.
See it in Gate 41, in the departures hall
